Benefit Life's Little Correctors Color Correcting Kit

I decided to try Benefit's Life's Little Correctors Color Correcting Kit because color correcting seems to be everywhere! This kit is only $20 for five different products!

The kits comes in an adorable box, very consistent with Benefit's cute, vintage-y packaging.

The back shows you what's included and also some tips on application.

Inside the box, are three plastic palettes.

Palette one has Boi-ing Industrial Strength Full Coverage Concealer in shade 01 and Lemon Aid Color Correcting Eyelid Primer, palette two has Boi-ing Industrial Strength Full Coverage Concealer in shade 02 and Lemon Aid, and palette three has Erase Paste Brightening Concealer in Medium and Eye Bright.

Also included is an instruction booklet with how-to information and tips and tricks.

The booklet was helpful, because I wasn't totally sure how to apply everything without looking like Rainbow Bright.

Here I am with just foundation on (Urban Decay Naked Foundation in shade 2):

Here's what I look like with Lemon Aid on my lids, Boi-ing in shade 01 used to conceal darkness under my eyes, and Eye Bright to brighten the inner and outer corner of the eyes.

Here's what I look like with the same foundation and just Erase Paste as undereye concealer.

I didn't photograph Boi-ing in shade 02, because it's just too dark for me.

So how did these perform? I like Lemon Aid as an eyelid brightener. My eyelids are discolored and you can see tiny veins showing through because the skin is so thin. Lemon Aid did a great job of evening and brightening my eyelids. Boi-ing in shade 01 was lovely as an undereye concealer. It covered up darkness, while matching my skintone nicely. Eye Bright was another favorite and it really neutralized any redness in the inner and outer corners of my eyes. I applied Lemon Aid, the Boi-ing concealer and Eye Bright with my finger. The heat from my skin made all of these go on smoothly. I quickly set them all with Clinique Blended Face Powder, because they all had a tendency to crease on their own.

As I said, Boi-ing in shade 02 was just too dark for me, but would be pretty on a medium skin tone.

Erase Paste looked very orange to me, but it's supposed to have a melon tone to it, so that is by design. Orange is the opposite of purple, so a melon concealer will cover the purplish darkness under the eye area. I applied Erase Paste under my eyes with my finger and then blended it out with a Beauty Blender and to my surprise, it didn't look half bad. (I also set it with the same Clinique powder, because it wanted to crease up on me, too.) One note about Erase Paste - it is much softer than all the other products, so if you pick up the product with your finger, press lightly. I learned this the hard way by smashing my finger into it and leaving a big dent.

Here are swatches of all the products included. From top to bottom in each shot are Boi-ing 01, Boi-ing 02, Lemon Aid, Erase Paste and Eye Bright.

I think this collection of color correctors is a great deal! Even though all the products weren't my favorite, I really like Lemon Aid, Eye Bright and the Boi-ing concealer in shade 01. Erase Paste in medium and Boi-ing in shade 02 were a tad dark for me, but if you twist the palettes like an ice cube tray, the pans pop right out. I'm going to give those to my Mom. So, my one critique would be that it would have been nice if they'd offered this kit in different shade depths. They pretty much left out deeper skin tones and fair skin tones would benefit (no pun intended!) from getting to choose an Erase Paste in fair.

Overall, though, if you're fair to medium in skin tone, Benefit's Life's Little Correctors Color Correcting Kit is a fun way to dip your toes into the world of color correcting!
