All Good Lips Organic Coconut SPF 20 Lip Balm Review

Always on the lookout for new lip balms with sunscreen, I spotted All Good Lips Organic Coconut SPF Lip Balm at Whole Foods. I love coconut, so I thought I'd give it a try. At $3.50 a tube, it's definitely affordable!

The other thing that drew me to this balm is that it has physical SPF - just zinc oxide. I tend to like physical blocks better because they don't have a chemical taste.

And sure enough, this balm doesn't really have any taste at all - which is fine with me! It has a soft coconut scent, kind of like coconut milk or the meat of the coconut. It's very natural and not sweet or cloying.

It feels slightly waxy and leaves a tiny bit of a white cast on the lips from the zinc oxide.

Here are my lips without any balm:

And here is what the All Good Lips Organic Coconut SPF 20 Lip Balm looks like when worn:

The white cast is subtle and definitely not bothersome for sporty days, like if I'm hiking or kayaking. This balm is lightly hydrating and lasts for about 45 minutes to an hour on my lips before I want to reapply.

Overall, this lip balm has a lot of pros.
  • Physical Block - Zinc Oxide
  • Pleasant, light coconut scent
  • No chemical taste (really no taste at all)
  • Feels good after initial application
  • Cruelty free
  • Organic
  • Affordable
But there are some cons, too.
  • Not long lasting
  •  Slight white cast
  • Not hydrating enough for me
I'm really picky about lip balm, so even though there are a lot of pros, I just like something that provides more moisture. However, I'm going to keep this one, because it was inexpensive and Lord knows I need a lip product in every purse, pocket and drawer! But I wouldn't buy it again because it just doesn't have the lasting power that I prefer.
