Swatch Sunday - Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Slimlights

Not satisfied with just the Becca Champagne Splits, I had to get my paws on the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Slimlight in Champagne Pop!

The description for use on the Sephora site says:

Suggested Usage:
-Highlight the inner corner of the eye to brighten up the eye area.
-Use as a cream eye shadow stick.
-Use on the bridge of the nose to straighten and define.
-Highlight over and under the browbone to define.
-Use on top of each eyebrow to lift the entire eye area.
-Use above Cupid’s bow to create the illusion of a fuller, defined lip.
-Line the lower lash line to brighten the eyes.

So, since it can be use as a cream eye shadow stick, I decided to pull out my other champagne/gold eyeshadow sticks for a little comparison.

Here are the swatches! From top to bottom in each shot are Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Slimlight in Champagne Pop, Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop Eyestick in Volver, Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Color in Rosegold and then Sugar Frost, and Mally Evercolor Shadow Stick Extra in Moonlight.

The Mally Shadow Stick Extra in Moonlight is a really close dupe (and appears to be on sale on Amazon for $9.99, though I can't vouch for the seller), but is not the exact same shade of the Champagne Pop. I was kind of surprised at the similarity, though! I do like eyeshadow sticks (clearly!) and the Becca Slimlight goes on nicely and works well for highlighting the inner corner of the eye, brow bone and cupid's bow. It's quite sheer for a wash of color for they eyelid or lower lash line. For that, I prefer the Laura Mercier eyestick in Sugar Frost or the Marc Jacobs eyestick in Volver.

One thing that the Becca Slimlight has that the other sticks don't is a built-in sharpener on the end of the tube! The product is a twist-up stick and not a pencil that needs to be sharpened, but I guess it's so that you can get a precise tip. Personally, I probably won't use it because it seems wasteful, but it's worth noting that it's there.

Overall, I like the Becca Slimlight for highlighting, but I prefer my eyesticks for eye makeup looks. In the future, however, I'll have to remember that I can repurpose my eyesticks for highlighter!
