It Cosmetics Brow Power Review

I always check Nouveaucheap's blog to get the heads up on good makeup deals. So when she posted that the It Cosmetics Brow Power was a free promo item at Ulta, I snapped it up! (It's a travel size - not a full size, but I'm not complaining.) I don't know if the deal is still available, but it's sure worth a try.

Interestingly, Ulta had this deal a while back and I got Brow Power and I just gave it to my Mom because I wasn't that jazzed about it. This time, I decided to give it another try. Do you ever do that with makeup products?

Brow Power comes in a grey box with silver and white writing.

The pencil itself is also silver and has the pencil end and a spoolie end. The pencil end is twist up and oval shaped.

Here are the ingredients:

The shade is universal taupe and is supposed to work for everyone, so you don't have to pick a shade. The trick here is that if you want it to appear lighter, then you use light pressure to apply it. If you want it darker, you press harder.

Here are swatches. I used firm pressure because I wanted it to show up clearly in the photos. However, I used lighter pressure on my actual brows.

Here's what it looks like on my brows:

After giving Brow Power a second chance, I decided I like it! I think it's similar to Anastasia's Perfect Brow Pencil. The main difference is that Brow Power is a twist up and it's designed to work as a shade that everyone can use, whereas the Perfect Brow Pencil needs to be sharpened and comes in a range of shades. As someone that likes taupe brow products, Brow Power is a great shade match for me. I did have to use caution with my pressure and use light, short strokes. But, it gave a nice result and made my brows look shaped and full. The spoolie end helped to diffuse any harsh lines. I didn't have any problems with smudging or transferring and the color stayed true all day.

My Mom also reported back that she has been happy with Brow Power, too. Her brows are also light and she prefers a natural brow look.

I have quite a collection of brow products and love trying new things, so I don't know that I'll be needing to buy a new Brow Power anytime soon. But I will happily use up my free one! Thanks, Ulta!
