Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick Review

I've had a couple Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipsticks for a few months, but I just added a couple more when Ulta had their 21 Days of Beauty. So now I have four!

These lippies come in a purple box

with a green and yellow pattern on the inside of the box.

The lipsticks themselves come in a purple metal tube.

The tube is weighty and feels substantial in the hand. The shades that I got are Sheer Shame, Sheer Anarchy, Sheer F-Bomb and Sheer Ladyflower.

The bullets look quite intense, but the color lives up to its name and applies quite sheer. Here we have Sheer Shame, Sheer Ladyflower, Sheer F-Bomb and Sheer Anarchy.

The description explains that, "Urban Decay’s Sheer Revolution Lipstick is everything you love about the original Revolution lipstick, but with a sheer, shiny finish. Every shade features a rich, creamy feel and a gorgeous, high-shine finish. Like Urban Decay’s original formula, this sheer lipstick hugs lips, sweeping on with an ultra-smooth, budge-free application."

I completely agree with the description! These lipsticks are hydrating, sheer, have great slip and a shiny finish. However, since they are sheer and moisturizing, they don't wear very long. I get about two hours of wear time before I feel like I need to reapply. I found Sheer Anarchy to be the easiest to wear. It applies evenly and doesn't migrate out of the lip line. I could apply it without a mirror. Sheer Ladyflower applied fairly easily, but did migrate outside the lipline a bit. It was the most opaque of the four that I purchased. Sheer Shame is a beautiful color, but it needs to be applied carefully to avoid migration. Sheer F-Bomb has the same problem. All four shades feel lovely and are very comfortable to wear.

The shades themselves are relatively similar. I was surprised at how close the colors were when I swatched them. Top to bottom in each shot are Sheer Shame, Sheer Ladyflower, Sheer F-Bomb and Sheer Anarchy.

On the lips, the shades look somewhat similar.

Here are my lips without anything on them:

Sheer Anarchy:

Sheer Anarchy is my favorite out of the four that I bought. It's the easiest to apply, it feels wonderful and it's a nice, hot pink that is very wearable because it's sheer.

Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipsticks are a wonderful break from all the matte lippies and liquid lipsticks. If you're thinking of picking up any of these sheer lipsticks, now would be a great time because Sephora's sale is going on!
