Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation Review

I got a sample of the Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation from Sephora, so I gave it a shot. The lightest shade in the sampler was 3.5, which was too dark for my NW20 skin. So I went to get a sample and the salesperson at Sephora recommended 2.0.

The shades in this foundation have a warm or cool undertone. Warm shades end in ".0" and cool shades end in ".5". I have seen a shade online that is neutral and ends in ".25", but it seems to only be 3.25 for some reason. Also, some of the deeper shades have a ".75" option that appears to be a golden undertone.

I am still not sure that 2.0 is my shade, but it does look close - definitely better than 3.5! Even though I'm cool, I have a lot of surface redness. So the yellow undertone in this foundation seems to counteract the ruddiness in my skin. I still feel like I should test out 2.5 or maybe even go lighter and try 1.0 and 1.5. But in the meantime, I feel like 2.0 is definitely in the ballpark.

The packaging is a beautiful rose gold box.

The product itself comes in a plastic container with an easy to control pump.

The foundation has a slight paint scent, but it dissipates after application. The texture is light and thin. It is supposed to have a demi matte finish and feel weightless on the skin. I totally agree with that! It feels light when I wear it and is very comfortable. I don't have any tightness, itching or breakouts from this foundation. The finish is matte while still looking skin-like. Coverage is sheer to light, but it does have a diffusing affect that seems to blur imperfections. Although, I still needed concealer under my eyes and on my skin cancer scar.

Here's what it looks like on my skin:

Naked Skin Foundation wore nicely throughout the day. My skin is combo, with an oily t-zone and more normal cheeks. I did need to blot my chin after about three hours, but then it looked fresh again. Then at the 6.5 hour mark, I noticed more oil coming through. Once again, blotting my chin and nose helped. When applied with a Beauty Blender, I didn't have any issues with caking or dry patches showing through.

Here are the swatches.

I'm thoroughly impressed with the Naked Skin Foundation! Urban Decay is rocking and rolling because I've been loving everything from them lately! This foundation is great for days when you want lighter coverage, but still want to look polished and fresh. I highly recommend it!
